Music and the Bass
Entry for June 27, 2006
I think there should be more, and better music available for the bassist.

What pieces would you like to see for the bass?

I just would like to see more and more and more.. especially in a chamber music setting.. ( love more new arrangemnts too !!) your wonderful catalog Norman is doing a lot for that and I am very glad to have it as a resource for things I have performed often !! And since I have written nearly 50 bass chamber works myself -- this is one of my causes as a composer too. :)

my list of works is on my site if you are interested http://www.under.org/cpcc/pkwaddle.htm

I am sure I will be ordering more from you soon. !! Have a great weekend :)

That's a good idea. I'll add that to my "wish list to do".

I think gymnopedie No. 1 Lent et triste by Eric Satie for double bass and piano would be the best thing ever!! It would sound so beautiful. Hope an arrangment is possible for that

I'd like to see "A Swingin' Safari" by Bert Kamfert" Properly orchestrated. It is a piece that has been underserved by the publishing community for too long. And also, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn". Great stuff, and far more accessible than all the classical and proto-classical stuff that you already have. No offense.
